Paul Morris, President of the Center City Commission, delivered the annual State of Downtown address.

November 9, 2010 meeting

The November 2010 meeting was held at Muse Inspired Fashon at the new location, south of the Arcade.

The new board and discussion was presented.  There will be further information regarding election to follow.

An excellent assortment of Complimentary hors d’oeurves was catered by Marcy Siebert.

October 12, 2010 meeting:

The meeting for October 2010 was held at Ernestine and Hazel’s, 531 South Main Street.  Featured speaker was Jimmy Ogle, Local Historian. Social 6:00, Meeting 6:30. Complimentary “Soul Burgers” provided by Ernestine and Hazel’s.

September 2010 meeting:

The South Main Association Monthly Meeting for September, 2010 was held on

September 14, 2010 at The Corner Bar at the Peabody Hotel. Featured Speakers were Doug Browne, General Manager, and Jason Sensat, Duckmaster, of the Peabody Hotel. Topic of discussion was “Tales and Tails of the South’s Grand Hotel”.

Social 6:00, Meeting 6:30. Complimentary Hors d’oeuvres provided by The Peabody.

The South Main Association Monthly Meeting for August, 2010 was held at

Mesquite Chop House, 88 Union Avenue. The Featured Speaker was Ty Agee,

President Beale Street Merchant Association. Topic was “The Merchant’s Association and Downtown”

July 2010 meeting:

South Main Association Monthly Meeting for July 13, 2010 was held at The Beignet Café, 124 East G E Patterson.

Featured Speaker was John Moore, President and CEO Greater Memphis Chamber.

June 2010 meeting:

The South Main Association Monthly Meeting was held on June 8, 2010 at

Christine by Shelton Clothier, 147 South Main. The Featured Speaker was Terry Lynch,

President, The Southland Companies, topic of “Is the Glass Half Empty or Half Full”.

Complimentary Hors d’oeuvres were provided by Circa by John Bragg.

May 2010 meeting:

The May 2010 meeting was held at the Rum Boogie Cafe, 182 Beale Street.

April 2010 Meeting:

South Main Association Monthly Meeting for April 2010 was held at Boscos Brewery, 827 South Main.

March 2010 Meeting:

The monthly meeting for March was held at Local Gastropub at 95 S. Main Street, March 9, 2010

February 2010 meeting:

The monthly meeting for February 2010 was held Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at See the Difference Interiors , 431 South Main.

Social half hour at 6:00 PM and speaker Jodie Vance – Publisher Memphis Downtowner Magazine – at 6:30 PM.

The topic for February 2010:

“An Amazing Two-Decade Journey … Along South Main The history, the fun, and the incredible experiences of building a neighborhood”. Complimentary Hors d’oeuvres provided by See the Difference Interiors. Cash Bar.

January 2010 meeting:

The monthly meeting for January 2010 was held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at The Center for Southern Folklore, with the social half hour at 6:00 PM.

Speakers Leslie Gower  – Vice President Marketing and Jerome Rubin – Vice President Operations from the CCC  delivered the  “State of Downtown” address at 6:30 PM.
